The Children's Homes

|  | Bhaktapur Self-Sustaining Children's Home in Nepal Located in the district on Bhaktapur, eastern Nepal. This home was established in December 2007 and is rapidly developing. Now home to 10 children.

| | Currently we are developing the basic food production facilities of the home - building a shelter/hut for the Buffalo, goats and chickens. Once the shelter is completed we can then purchase the animals.
The agriculture of the home is well under development with the first rice crop harvested and plans for the next crop cycles to be planted.
We are also investigating an income producing business (a Laundry service) which we hope to have facts on by end on November.

Riya is married to Rupak and they have a two years old daughter Maria. The are long-term residents of the village we have located the Bhaktapur home within. Riya is also completing her studies in social work and had a strong wish to be of service to her wider community, thus she sees the developing and caring of the Home as fulfilling her life ambition. She is a strong woman with good practical knowledge, having built her own family home and developed their agricultural business she has much experience she can bring to our home. Additionally her husband is employed in a good job (Manager of a cargo export business) and thus her own financial situation and home is stable, meaning she can give much time and energy to the smooth running of the Home. Additionally Riya considers the education of the children very important and is spending extra time in the evenings personally tutoring the children to improve their studies. | |

| | | | Mine – live in house motherMine’s husband has left to work overseas and has not given her nay contact for some time, she had been homeless and in a poor situation in the village yet was willing to work hard, so Riya enlisted her support in the home and she lives in as the main ‘mother’ with her child Basara who is 4yrs old.
